The Role: Band 7 Clinical Lead Audiologist
As the Clinical Lead Audiologist, you will oversee the delivery, quality, and development of the audiology service. This senior position combines clinical excellence with leadership, mentorship, and strategic service development. You will play a central role in ensuring the department maintains high standards in line with the Improving Quality in Physiological Services (IQIPS) framework under UKAS accreditation.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the audiology department, including peer review, professional supervision, and staff development.

Ensure compliance and continuous improvement under the IQIPS accreditation framework.

Develop and implement clinical audit schedules, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with national standards.

Perform advanced audiological assessments, including Pure Tone Audiometry, Bone Conduction Audiometry, Tympanometry, and Acoustic Reflex testing.

Carry out ear mould impressions, hearing aid fittings, and custom mould dispensing.

Manage audiology stock levels and ensure smooth operational delivery of clinical services.

Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop commercial opportunities and contribute to service growth.
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential:
-
BSc (Hons) in Audiology or equivalent qualification.

Registration as a Clinical Physiologist (Audiology) or HCPC Clinical Scientist.

Demonstrable post-graduate clinical experience, including work with adult and paediatric patients.

Strong communication and leadership skills with a commitment to service excellence.
Desirable:

MSc in Audiology or postgraduate M-level credits.

British Sign Language qualification.

Experience in service development, clinical audit, and specialist paediatric testing (VRA, ERA, NHSP).
