About the Role

The successful candidate will be part of a busy, well-established Audiology Department based at St George’s Hospital, Tooting, and across three community sites accessible via public transport. The role involves delivering high-quality diagnostic and rehabilitation services for adults with a wide range of hearing conditions.

Applicants should be confident in working independently on routine clinical tasks and demonstrate enthusiasm for providing evidence-based, patient-centred care. The position offers exposure to a variety of specialist areas, including tinnitus, vestibular (balance), paediatric, and auditory implant services, allowing for professional growth and clinical development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive diagnostic hearing assessments for adults with different pathologies.

  • Deliver rehabilitation services including hearing aid fitting, verification, and follow-up.

  • Support patients with balance and tinnitus management.

  • Work collaboratively with a large team of audiologists and healthcare professionals across multiple sites.

  • Contribute to maintaining high service standards aligned with Trust values – Kind, Excellent, Responsible, and Respectful.

  • Ensure accurate clinical documentation and adherence to UK national protocols.


Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • BSc in Audiology or equivalent degree.

  • State registration with HPC/RCCP (or working towards registration).

Desirable:

  • MSc in a related field (preferred but not required).

  • Course in British Sign Language (BSL) for better communication with patients with hearing impairment.


Experience and Skills

Essential:

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in audiology.

  • Familiarity with UK national protocols and audiological standards.

  • Competency in using clinical IT systems for documentation and hearing aid programming.

Desirable:

  • Experience conducting clinical audits.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to reflective practice and continuous professional development.

  • High level of professionalism and work ethic.
